Ethics Complaint Filed Against Linda Harper-Brown
Republican state rep failed to disclose receiving Mercedes-Benz

Earlier today, the Texas Values in Action Coalition filed a formal complaint with the Texas Ethics Commission detailing State House Representative Linda Harper-Brown’s failure to report gifts of two Mercedes-Benz automobiles and a Chevy Tahoe on her personal financial statements as required by Texas law. A copy of the formal complaint can be seen here .

Linda Harper-Brown (Republican – HD105, Irving) has been under intense criticism from constituents and local media since the Dallas Morning News and WFAA-TV revealed that she has been driving a luxury Mercedes-Benz sedan owned by a corporation that holds millions of dollars in state transportation contracts. Harper-Brown sits on a key House Committee which oversees state transportation issues.

Harper-Brown has responded to public criticism by lashing out at political opponents and issuing harsh, but non-substantive denials. Links to recent news reports as well as Lone Star Project reports providing detail on the Harper-Brown/Mercedes-Benz scandal are provided below as background.

Click here for Harper-Brown’s second web video, taken down
only hours after it was posted.
