Regardless of your party affiliation, every Texan, and particularly those living in Dallas County, can be proud of the representation of Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins. Judge Jenkins’ media appearances over the last two days explaining his and others efforts in Dallas County to house and humanely care for undocumented children who have entered Texas reflects a strength and decency seldom seen in the midst of a political campaign.
During the Tea Party era when nearly every media appearance by a public official up for re-election is designed to divide voters by party or ideology or both, Clay Jenkins is using his public platform to appeal to the charitable, moral and basic goodness within Texans.
