Domingo swings wildly at Veasey, but hits...
If Domingo Garcia wants to identify Democrats who accommodate and facilitate Republicans, he need only look in the mirror.
Yesterday, Domingo Garcia wildly attacked Marc Veasey after he learned that the National Association of Realtors and Fort Worth businessman Ed Bass have rejected Garcia and weighed in with support for Marc Veasey’s election in Congressional District 33. The Realtors' ad supporting Veasey can be seen here.
In a breathless email rant, Garcia falsely equates the Realtors Association to Republicans while also implying that Bass only gives to Republicans. Both assertions are incorrect.
Domingo lashed out, falsely calling the realtors a "Republican Super PAC." What Domingo failed to acknowledge is that the national and state realtor associations support some of the most highly respected Texas Democratic elected officials. The same is true with Ed Bass who has helped a number of key Democratic leaders in Fort Worth. Garcia's real gripe seems to be with anyone who rejects him and supports Marc Veasey.

The Realtors and Ed Bass simply chose Veasey over Garcia
The Realtors Association federal and state PACs are about as bipartisan as it gets. The group supports a number of very high profile Democrats including Senator Royce West, one of Domingo's few public supporters (Source: Texas Ethics Commission). In the 2010 cycle, the National Realtors PAC contributed to every single Democratic Member of the Texas Congressional Delegation, including Dallas Democrat Eddie Bernice Johnson and liberal Members like Lloyd Doggett and Charlie Gonzalez. In fact, the realtors support all four top Democratic leaders in the US Congress– Nancy Pelosi, Steny Hoyer, Jim Clyburn and John Larson.
Does Domingo oppose the home mortgage deduction?
The National Association of Realtors is made up of thousands of real estate agents and other people who work in the realtor industry in Texas and across the country. One of their primary federal issues is the preservation of the tax deduction for the interest paid on home mortgages. It is one of the few, and most important, tax deductions enjoyed by all middle class American homeowners.
Fort Worth Philanthropist Ed Bass gives to respected Democrats
As for Ed Bass, he is a prominent Fort Worth businessman and philanthropist. He is responsible for the renowned Bass Concert Hall in downtown Fort Worth. Two political action committees Bass supports - the Texas Progress Fund and Good Government Fund - have given to respected Fort Worth political leaders, including Democrats like State Senator Wendy Davis, former Councilwoman Kathleen Hicks, Councilman Sal Espino, County Commissioner Roy Brooks, Councilman Joel Burns and, yes, Marc Veasey (Source: Texas Ethics Commission).
Garcia's sour grapes snit is similar to earlier attacks
Time after time, Domingo Garcia has lashed out against individuals who reject him and endorse Marc Veasey. Earlier in the campaign, Garcia attacked former Congressman Martin Frost, along with the Texas AFL-CIO and other labor leaders, after they rejected his request for an endorsement and backed Veasey. Garcia repeated the pattern after he traveled to Washington DC and failed to garner support from any national Congressional leaders only to see many of those leaders endorse Veasey instead.
Who is Domingo Garcia's most reliable supporter?
Domingo Garcia Domingo Garcia is a millionaire lawyer. He lives in a $1.5 million dollar mansion and owns at least two exotic foreign made sports cars. Clearly, Domingo's got plenty of money. And, if he didn’t, his campaign would have collapsed weeks ago. Over 87% of the money spent in Garcia's campaign has come from his own pocket. After failing to gain significant financial support from donors in DFW, in Texas or nationally, Garcia has been forced to give his own campaign over $1.28 million (Source: Garcia for Congress FEC reports).

Who cuts self-serving deals with Republicans? Domingo Garcia
The most dramatic and damaging sell-out to Republicans took place when Domingo Garcia broke with other Democrats and minority advocacy groups like National LULAC and the NAACP to cut a redistricting deal with Greg Abbott and Rick Perry. Garcia sold out hundreds of thousands of Hispanics and African Americans across Texas when he agreed to a redistricting plan that gave three of the four new Texas Congressional districts to Republicans (Source: Lone Star Project).
