Lone Star Project Opening Day Honor Roll
On January 9, 2007, 54 Democrats voted as part of a bipartisan coalition to demand fairness in the election for the Texas House Speaker. The list below includes the Representatives who showed courage and conviction during a procedural vote that would have allowed ballots for Speaker to be confidential until committee assignments had been made. This would have allowed Representatives to vote their conscience without worrying about punishment by the speaker.
*Special recognition goes to the Representatives who also voted against Craddick in the actual vote for Speaker.
